First Generation

1. Johann Valentine GRIESEMER^1,2 was born on 4 January 1688 in Lampertheim, Hesse. He immigrated on 19 August 1730 to Philadelphia, PA. He died on 30 May 1773 in Hereford Township, Berks Co., PA. Johann was buried in New Goshenhoppen Reformed Church, Upper Hanover Twp., Montgomery Co., PA. Valentine arrived after 72 days at sea, with his family and brother in Philadelphia, at Bourne's wharf, on the ship "Thistle of Glasgow". He established a homestead in Hereford Township, Berks Co., PA. He was a member of the New Goshenhoppen Church. Parents were Johan Velten Griesheimer and Anna Margaret Unknown of Hesse.

There is a piece of unsourced data which has Johan married a third time to Maria Elizabeth Henckel about 1727 and they had 3 kids. So if that is the case, Anna died shortly after the birth of Philip, maybe even the result of his birth. Gertrude thru Mary would of course be children of Val and Maria Elizabeth.

Johann Valentine GRIESEMER and Anna Margarete KERN were married on 12 July 1712 in Lampertheim, Hesse. Anna Margarete KERN^1,2 was born about 1690 in Lampertheim, Hesse. She died about 1721 in Lampertheim, Hesse.

Jacob GRIESEMER¹ was born about 1721 in Lampertheim, Hesse. He was epileptic, never married and lived with parents.

Johann Valentine GRIESEMER and Anna Maria ZUGK were married on 25 May 1723 in Lampertheim, Hesse. Anna Maria ZUGK¹ was born about 1695 in Lampertheim, Hesse. Daughter of Christopher Zugk of Lampertheim.

Johann Jacob GRIESEMER¹ was born on 27 February 1724 in Lampertheim, Hesse. He was baptized on 7 March 1730 in Lampertheim, Hesse. He died in 1803 in North Carolina. Jacob married Anna Catharine Hahlmann on 18 January 1759 at New Goshohoppen Church. He died in Lincoln County, NC.
