Descendants of Johann Frederick Brotzman

Johann was reported to be a shoemaker in Wurtemburg, the son of Heinrich Brotzman. Johann brought his family to the new world, aboard the ship Thistle of Glasgow, under Capt. George Houston, sailing from Rotterdam, to a landing in Philadelphia, 28 Oct 1738. I have posted early Brotzman data obtained primarily from the 1968 publication on the family, and have worked on new data for the Berks County, PA family under Johann Daniel Prutzman. The photo is of the Trappe Church, where Johann Frederick's son Adam is buried. The family under Adam, aka George Adam, of Limerick Township, Montgomery County, PA, under went the name change to Prutzman. Johann Daniel Prutzman, grandson to George Adam, brought the family into the Oley Valley of Berks County.

PRUTZMAN REUNION (aka Children of Jennie Bower Reunion)

I'm connected to the Prutzman side of the family, so I know it as the PRUTZMAN reunion. However the reunion started when the sons of Jennie Bower and Charles Prutzman, her first husband; and Jennie and Lawrence Reitnauer, her second husband, bumped into each other during WW II. Actually during a roll call. And I guess the Reitnauer side of the family knows the gathering as the Reitnauer reunion. Although since Lawrence Reitnauer was a son of William Reitnauer and Amanda Prutzman, the term Prutzman Reunion would encompass both. All Prutzman's are welcomed. The Reitnauer side of the family is currently dead ended with the birth of William Reitnauer in 1879, by an unknown father William Reitnauer. Any Reitnauer with answers is most welcomed and I'll even pay for your meal. The gathering starts at Noon at Sinking Spring Borough Park, Berks Co., PA. Reunions are held the 4th Saturday in June. For 2010 that date is June 26th. Lunch and dinner is catered so there is a modest cost of $6 each. Contact me for more details.


BROTZMAN, BRUTZMAN, PRUTZMAN, and ALL REUNION
