First Generation

1. Johannes REIDER1 was born about 1722. He died about 1800 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. Rev. Muhlenberg's records from Augustus Lutheran Church in Trappe, have a marriage record of Johannes Reiter (widower) married Anna Maria Carlin in 1745 in the "Oley Mountains." Same church notes wife and child of Johannes Reiter buried 29 August 1745 in Mennonite Cemetery; although she was Reformed." I will assume Johannes first wife and child died and Anna Maria Carl is his second wife, who he probably married November or December 1745. All is just an intelligent guess for now with a little bit of fact thrown in. It's interesting to note that Muhlenberg did cover the area known as the "Oley Mountains", which included present day Pike Township, and in Pike Township is a Carl Road, presumed named after the Carl family. I have only found a birth and baptism record for Johannes, born 1850, for this Johannes and Anna. The other sons are a family tradition. His death and location is just a guess for now. Per Mary Rhoads, Oakland, MD, this is Johann Heinrich Reider; although she wasn't able to furnish me with any source.

Johannes REIDER and Anna Maria CARL were married in 1745 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. Anna Maria CARL1 (daughter of Johannes CARL and Anna Maria WEISS) was born on 9 Mar 1727 in Saarland. She died about 1800 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. Anna Maria and Johannes were sponsors for Theobald, son of Theobald, and it is this sponsorship that I use as the link for Anna Maria as a daughter of Johannes; plus to a lessor degree, location and surname. Johannes REIDER and Anna Maria CARL had the following children:
